Phantom nominated in Whatsonstage.com Awards

The Phantom of the Opera this afternoon gained two nominations in the 2012 Whatsonstage.com Awards, after weeks of nominations from theatre fans.

The shortlist was announced at the official launch party at Cafe de Paris in London’s West End. The London production of Phantom is up for Best West End Show, while our recent 25th Anniversary celebrations are nominated for the Theatre Event of the Year.

More than 10,000 theatregoers took part in the initial nominations process, and voting for the shortlisted categories is now open at whatsonstage.com/vote. Voting is open until 31st January 2012, and the winners will be announced at a special ceremony on Sunday 19th February 2012.
