Wendy Ferguson



Training: Wendy is from County Derry, Northern Ireland, and began singing lessons at the age of five. In 1996 she was granted a vocal scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she studied for five years, graduating with a Masters degree in music performance, BMus (Hons) and, upon completion of her studies, LGSMD. While at GSMD she was awarded the Masonic Prize for Singing and the Ian Gow Memorial Bursary for Northern Irish Musicians.

Theatre includes: recently, Widow Corney in Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Oliver! directed by Rupert Goold (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and live cast recording staring Rowan Atkinson). From 2005 to 2008 Wendy played Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera and is thrilled to be rejoining the company here at Her Majesty’s.

Concerts include: Bach Magnificat, Beethoven Missa Solemnis, Bach B Minor Mass, Brahms German Requiem, Mozart Requiem, Handel Messiah, Haydn The Creation, Mendelssohn Elijah, Berlioz Requiem and Pergolesi Stabat Mater, with appearances in the Barbican Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and numerous concert venues throughout her native Ireland.
