Lori Gilchrist

The Ballet Chorus of the Opera Populaire


Lori is from West Yorkshire and trained at the Pamela Gibson School Of Dance. She was also a Royal Ballet senior associate and a York scholar. At 16 Lori moved to Manchester to continue her training at the Northern Ballet School and graduated in 2004.

Upon graduating Lori joined Northern Ballet under the directorship of David Nixon in Leeds and danced there for 10 years. Whilst at Northern Ballet Lori danced many roles in David Nixon’s Ballets including: Sugar Plum Fairy in Nutcracker, Isabella in Wuthering Heights, Cleopatra in Cleopatra, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Myrtle in Great Gatsby. She also performed in A Simple Man choreographed by Gillian Lynne, Belle and The Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol by Massimo Moricone, Concertante by Hans van Manen, Perpetuum Mobile by Christopher Hampson, La Traviata by Veronica Paeper and Angels in the Architecture by Mark Godden.

In 2014 Lori Moved to New Zealand and joined The Royal New Zealand Ballet under the directorship of both Ethan Stiefel and Francesco Ventriglia. There she performed Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream choreographed by Liam Scarlett, Giselle by Ethan Stiefel and Johan Kobborg, Allegro Briliante by George Balanchine, Selon Desir by Andonis Foniadakis, Salute by Johan Kobborg, Queen of the Driads in Don Quixote by Adrian Burnett.

Lori is looking forward to Making her West End Debut In The Phantom of the Opera.
