Nominations for Phantom in Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards

CarlottaThe South African production of The Phantom of the Opera has this week gained six nominations in the country’s prestigious 47th annual Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards, including nods for three of the production’s actresses in the Best performance by a supporting actress in a musical or musical theatre category.

The Fleur du Cap Awards focus on professional theatre productions staged in the Cape Town area and its surrounds. On March 18th 2012, the winners of the 2011 Awards will be announced at a special ceremony at the Baxter Theatre, Cape Town.

Phantom’s nominations are:

Best performance by a lead actor in a musical or musical theatre -  Jonathan Roxmouth (The Phantom).

Best performance by a lead actress in a musical or musical theatre – Magdalene Minnaar (Christine).

Best performance by a supporting actor in a musical or musical theatre – Anthony Downing (Raoul).

Best performance by a supporting actress in a musical or musical theatre - Angela Killian (Madame Giry); Hanlee Louw (Carlotta/ Mme Firmin); Pauline du Plessis (Carlotta/Mme Firmin).
