London’s Phantom gets ready to mark an important milestone…

The London production of The Phantom of the Opera will mark a very special milestone next month – when, as the curtain rises on the Saturday afternoon matinee performance at 2.30pm on 23rd October 2010, the show reaches its 10,000th performance!

The original London production of Phantom had its first preview performance on 27th September 1986 at Her Majesty’s Theatre – where the show still plays today – before its official opening night on 9th October.

2011 marks the 25th Anniversary year of the original London production of Phantom, and, as the show’s current cast take to the stage for the 10,000th performance on 23rd October, it’s only the beginning of the celebrations…

To celebrate this milestone, keep an eye on the Phantom Facebook page, where we’ll be launching an exclusive 10,000th performance competition!
