The Phantom of the Opera

Tabitha is from Kent and is of Anglo-Welsh descent. She gained a BA (Hons) from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, followed by a postgraduate diploma from the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with distinction.

Her professional career started at 16 after winning the BBC Choir Girl of the Year competition. This led to numerous national radio and television performances, recordings and concerts around the UK and Europe, including recording her own one-hour radio special for BBC Radio 2.

Tabitha understudied and played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera and was one of the featured soloists in Tim Rice’s star-studded production of Chess singing alongside Josh Groban and Idina Menzel (Royal Albert Hall and DVD). Tabitha has recently left the cast of Les Misérables in which she understudied and played Cosette. In 2000 she played and created the role of Adele in Jane Eyre by Michael Berkeley (world premiere, including Royal Opera House, Covent Garden).

Solo work includes concerts with the English Symphonia and the London Philharmonic orchestras. She has performed as a soloist at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Cardiff St David’s Hall, Brangwyn Hall, Wembley Conference Centre, the Barbican Centre, the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and also on the field singing national anthems at England international football matches.

Television includes: Aloysia Weber, Mozart’s lover, in the BBC drama The Genius of Mozart and, more recently, the BBC’s Songs of Praise, singing ‘Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again’.

Recordings include: duets with Anthony Way on his CD Wings of a Dove (Decca Records).
